Working as a guide offers the incredible chance to meet a wide range of people. Usually, the experiences we create and the stunning locations of Sicily—its sea, its landscapes—make everything flow naturally, leaving guests happier than when they first arrived. But when the assignment involves accompanying or producing a video with artists or high-profile personalities, there’s always a touch of anxiety: nothing can be left to chance, given the number of people involved and their varying expectations.
In this instance, my guests were Anglo-Italian singer Jack Savoretti, the travel platform Secret Escapes and Birra Moretti, collaborating on a short film capturing a day on the water with a bit of fishing and a seaside barbecue.
We met early to make the most of the morning light and capture the richest colors. From the beginning, it was clear that Jack was a down-to-earth, charming guy, eager to spend the day at sea and enjoy himself!
The day flew by, full of laughter and conversation, as we moved between fishing spots with my friend Roberto. After gathering live bait, we tried our luck at catching some sizable fish, but a couple of missed strikes later, it was already lunchtime. No one hesitated to head back to the harbor, knowing what awaited us.
The afternoon was dedicated to a fresh seafood barbecue, including some of our catch, right on the pier with crystal-clear waters—a truly unforgettable moment.
Spending a day at sea alongside my family and Jack Savoretti was both a great pleasure and an honor, especially for getting to know the delightful person behind the artist. These are his latest works in Italian.
I later discovered a collaboration with one of the greatest Italian artists in the world, Zucchero Fornaciari, on the song “Senza una donna.” What a masterpiece!
Being included in the footage alongside my father-in-law and wife was a gratifying recognition, reflecting the dedication and passion behind my work.
